Hotel Porto Santa Maria - Portobay - Adults Only Funchal , Funchal (Madeira)

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, unfortunately, did not live up to the expectations set by the garden view presented in the photographs. On the bright side, the service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The location offered stunning views of the sea but also some unwanted noise from local gatherings. The dining experience was a hit or miss, depending on the meal. The facilities, despite some drawbacks, were satisfactory overall.

The rooms offer a fantastic view of the cruise liners entering the harbor, especially from those with balconies facing the sea, while those overlooking the park lack views and can be noisy. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, and they truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to the main town, quayside, and all tourist attractions. However, the dining experience falls far below the hotel's standard, but there is a decent food selection available. Overall, a great choice in Funchal.
